Compliance status
We believe that the Internet should be accessible to everyone and we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible, whatever their circumstances and abilities.
To this end, we endeavour to comply as far as possible with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with various disabilities. Compliance with these guidelines helps us to ensure that the website is accessible to everyone: blind people, people with motor disabilities, visual impairments, cognitive disorders, etc.
This website uses various technologies to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities to adjust the website's user interface (UI) and design it to suit their personal needs.
In addition, the website uses an AI-based application that runs in the background and constantly optimises its level of accessibility. This application corrects the website's HTML code, adapting its functionality and behaviour to the screen readers used by blind users and the keyboard functions used by people with motor disabilities.
If you have noticed a malfunction or have any ideas for improvements, please let us know. You can contact the website operators using the following e-mail address support@cconcept.lu.
Navigation using a screen reader and keyboard
Our website uses the ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attribute technique, as well as various behavioural changes, to ensure that blind users who visit the site using screen readers can read, understand and take advantage of the site's functionalities. As soon as a user with a screen reader accesses your site, they are immediately prompted to enter the screen reader profile so that they can navigate and use your site effectively. Here's how our website meets some of the most important requirements for screen readers, accompanied by screenshots of the console with sample code:
Optimising screen readers Compliance: we run a background process that learns the website components from top to bottom, to ensure continued compliance even as the website is updated. In this process, we provide screen readers with meaningful data using the ARIA attribute set. For example, we provide precise form labels, descriptions for actionable icons (social network icons, search icons, shopping cart icons, etc.), validation hints for form entries, roles for elements such as buttons, menus, pop-up dialogue boxes, and more. In addition, the background process analyses all the images on the website and provides an accurate and meaningful description based on object recognition in the images, in the form of an ALT (alternative text) tag for images that are not described. It also extracts the text embedded in the image using OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To activate the screen reader settings at any time, users simply press the Alt+1 key combination. Screen reader users also receive automatic announcements to activate screen reader mode as soon as they access the website.
These settings are compatible with all common screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Optimised keyboard navigation The background process also adjusts the website's HTML code and adds various behaviours using JavaScript code to make the website keyboard-accessible. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, to use drop-down menus using the arrow keys, to close them using the Escape key, to activate buttons and links using the Enter key, to navigate between radio items and checkboxes using the arrow keys, and to fill them in using the space bar or the Enter key. In addition, keyboard users will find quick navigation and content skip menus, available at any time by pressing Alt+1, or as the first items on the site when navigating with the keyboard. The background process also manages triggered pop-up windows by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and preventing the focus from moving away from them.
Users can also use shortcuts such as 'M' (menus), 'H' (titles), 'F' (forms), 'B' (buttons) and 'G' (graphics) to access specific items.
Disability profiles supported on our website
Epilepsy mode This profile allows people with epilepsy to use the website in complete safety by eliminating the risk of seizures caused by flashing animations or dangerous colour combinations.
Fashion for the visually impaired This mode adapts the website to make it easier for users with visual problems such as impaired vision, tunnel vision, cataracts, glaucoma, etc. to navigate.
Fashion for people with cognitive problems This mode offers various assistance options to help users with cognitive problems such as dyslexia, autism, strokes, etc. to concentrate more easily on the essential elements of the website.
ADHD mode This mode helps users with ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders to read, navigate and concentrate more easily on the main elements of the website, while considerably reducing distractions.
Blind mode This mode configures the website to be compatible with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack. A screen reader is software for blind users that is installed on computers and smartphones, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard navigation profile (people with reduced mobility) Tab: this profile allows people with reduced mobility to use the website using the Tab, Shift+Tab and Enter keys on the keyboard. Users can also use shortcuts such as "M" (menus), "H" (titles), "F" (forms), "B" (buttons) and "G" (graphics) to access specific elements.
Additional adjustments to the user interface, design and readability
Font adjustments The font: users can increase or reduce its size, change its family (type), adjust spacing, alignment, line height, etc.
Colour adjustments Colour contrast: users can select different colour contrast profiles, such as light, dark, inverted and monochrome. In addition, users can change the colour combinations of titles, text and backgrounds, with over seven different colour options.
Entertainment Stop animations: people with epilepsy can stop all running animations with a single click. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs and CSS flashing transitions.
Highlighting content highlighting: users can choose to highlight important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight only those elements on which they focus or over which they move their mouse.
Audio mute Automatic sound playback: users with hearing aids may experience headaches or other problems due to automatic sound playback. This option allows users to instantly deactivate the sound of the entire website.
Cognitive disorders We use a search engine linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, enabling people with cognitive impairments to decipher the meaning of expressions, initials, slang and so on.
Additional functions We offer users the option of changing the colour and size of the cursor, using a print mode, activating a virtual keyboard and many other functions.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies
We strive to support as many browsers and assistive technologies as possible so that our users can choose the tools that suit them best, with as few restrictions as possible. That's why we've worked hard to support all the major systems that account for over 95 % of market share, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
Remarks, comments and feedback
Despite all our efforts to enable everyone to adapt the website to their needs, some pages or sections may not yet be fully accessible, may be in the process of being made accessible or may not have an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Nevertheless, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and functionalities, and developing and adopting new technologies. All of this is done with the aim of achieving an optimum level of accessibility, in line with technological advances. For any assistance, please contact support@cconcept.lu.
